Clean forks work the way they're supposed to, sometimes even better! Dirty forks initiate contamination which will degrade everything inside and cause premature wear & damage. And dry forks will wear out, be noisy and you'll lose considerable amount of performance! This should be done every year or more, even more often if you put a lot of hours on the bike or ride in extreme conditions.
